At Amerrock Products we promote and produce an environmentally friendly products not only with recycling, but also with a sustainable inorganic material. Rockwool Premium Insulation™ is made from recycled blast furnace slag – a by-product from Blast Furnace Mills in the Great Lakes area; otherwise this material would find its way in to landfills. The Basalt Rock or Tap Rock we use is purchased in San Antonio, TX and is a sustainable material abundantly available.
Other insulations rely on virgin materials or the use of recycled content from the waste stream. Cellulose is a perfect example of pulling from the waste stream. By using recycled newspaper it forces newspapers, magazines, and the manufacturers of copy paper to rely on virgin materials for their products. This translates into a further loss of our raw timber resources. Foam manufactures use recycle plastic bottles and other chemicals to manufacture their spray foam. There are no inorganic or sustainable materials used in the manufacturing of foam.
So when someone says their product is "GREEN" don’t just assume it is; it maybe just pale green. Do the work, dig deep and find out – it’s worth the effort.
