Rockwool Premium Plus™ performs so well with regard to fire safety it is listed by the International Building Code and the International Residential Code as an approve ignition barrier over foam in attics and crawl spaces.
Rockwool Premium Plus™ Insulation is an environmentally safe;
Class A Underwriters Laboratories listed spray material that will
provide a one-hour fire rating using 1/2" type X wallboard at 1250
lbs. per stud and a two-hour fire rating using 5/8" type X
wallboard at 1250 lbs. per stud. Premium Plus™ Wall Spray
Insulation contains no smoke-producing chemicals. Southern
Building Code Congress International Compliance Report No.
9551 lists each of the illustrated wall assemblies as having 1 Hr. or
2 Hr. fire ratings at 1250 lbs. per stud (Below). Rockwool
Premium Plus™ Wall Spray Insulation qualifies as Class A under
ASTM designation C-764 Types I and II, using ASTM C-518 for
thermal standards. Under ASTM Designation E-136 it is listed as
non-combustible.
